Do you have a physical store?
Currently Sode products can be purchased at Eco Chic Gallery & Consign, next door to Eco Chic Baby at 318 Main Street, Vacaville CA. We also participate in the Davis, CA Farmers Market on most Saturdays between 8am and noon.
What materials are used?
The materials are partners use vary upon the availability and region in which they are located. We try to utilize recycled or natural materials whenever possible.
Are you a 501(c)3 non-profit?
Yes, we are! Any donations given above the product suggested price is a tax-write off.
Where does my money go when I make a purchase?
We believe in honest business. Some people have the misconception that if a company is a non-profit all the workers must be volunteers. This is not the case; people can make a living out of non-profits. The difference is non-profits do not keep the margin above what is associated as costs (better known as profit). The prices for our items are determined by the addition of material costs, importing costs, 12% commission, and the amount we want to be able to give back to our partners. For example a $10 item may cost $2.50 to make, $1.00 to import, and $1.50 commission. That leaves $6 that is going back to our partner to be used for continuing their organization to support these women. We do not get involved with the dollars and cents of how they use this money. If they are one of our partners, we have already pre-verified their integrity and their vision, so we know the money is being used to support these women in some fashion. If you have any other questions about your financial support, feel free to email us. We want to be a completely open book for you.
Why aren’t you in partnered with groups in the United States?
We would love to be, we just haven’t found out fit in that picture yet. If you know of an organization that falls along the lines of this type of model send them our way! =]
How did you get started?
Cameron actually had to do a business innovations class in college and create a fake business. His group decided to make this project a reality. Through God’s amazing network we have met some amazing people and here we are 3 years later.
